Ame-no-uzume answered, “We are all glad because there is a god nobler than you here.”

兎うさぎは、「ヤカミヒメは、兄弟きょうだいたちを選えらびません。袋ふくろを背負せおっても、あなたが結婚けっこんするでしょう」と言いいました。

The hare said, “Yakami-hime will not choose your brothers. Though you carry a bag, it is you who will marry her.”

アメノウズメが、「あなたは、だれですか」とたずねると、その神かみは、サルタビコと名なのり、案内あんないのために来きたと答こたえました。

When Ame-no-uzume asked, “Who are you?”, the god gave his name as Sarutabiko and answered that he had come to act as a guide.

サクヤヒメは、戸とのない小屋こやを作つくって火ひをつけ、「あなたの子こなら、無事ぶじに生うまれます」と言いいました。

Sakuyahime built a hut with no door, set it on fire, and said, “If it is your child, it will be born safely.”
