舟: ship

舟ふねは、漁りょうにも、遠とおくへ行いくためにも使つかわれました。

The boats were used both for fishing and for traveling far away.

その船ふねは、丸木舟まるきぶねという、一本いっぽんの大おおきな木きをくり抜くりぬいて作つくった舟ふねでした。

Those boats were dugout canoes, boats made by hollowing out a single large tree.
