りんごを八やっつ買かった。

I bought eight apples.

この八やっつの島しまを、大八島おおやしまといい、これが日本にほんの国くにのはじまりだと伝つたえられています。

These eight islands are called the Ōyashima, and it is handed down that this was the beginning of the land of Japan.

ヤマタノオロチは、目めがほおずきのように赤あかく、体からだは一ひとつで、頭あたまと尾おが八やっつずつありました。

Yamata no Orochi had eyes as red as winter cherries, one body, and eight heads and eight tails.

背中せなかには、こけや木きが生はえていて、八やっつの谷たにと八やっつの丘おかをおおうほど長ながかったといいます。

そして、夫婦ふうふに八塩折の酒やしおりのさけという強つよい酒さけを作つくらせ、八やっつの門もんの後うしろに、酒さけの桶おけを一ひとつずつ置おかせました。

Then he had the couple make a strong sake called Yashiori no Sake and set a vat of sake behind each of eight gates.

Yamata no Orochi put its eight heads into the vats, drank the sake, and fell asleep.
