太陽たいようが東ひがしから昇のぼる。

The sun rises in the east.

アマテラスは、太陽たいようの女神めがみで、高天原たかまがはらを治おさめることになりました。

Amaterasu was the sun goddess, and it was decided that she would rule Takamagahara.

太陽たいようの女神めがみがいなくなって、高天原たかまがはらも地上ちじょうも、くらやみになりました。

With the sun goddess gone, both Takamagahara and the earth fell into darkness.

イツセは、矢やに当あたって、「太陽たいように向むかって戦たたかったのが、よくなかった。太陽たいようを背せにして戦たたかおう」と言いいました。

Itsuse was struck by an arrow and said, “It was wrong to fight facing the sun. Let us fight with the sun at our backs.”
