騙す: to trick

彼かれは老人ろうじんを騙だまして大金たいきんを奪うばった。

He tricked an old man and took a large sum of money.

兎うさぎは、「私わたしは淤岐島おきのしまにいて、本土ほんどに渡わたりたいと思おもい、和邇わにをだましました」と答こたえました。

The hare answered, “I was on the island of Okinoshima and wanted to cross to the mainland, so I tricked the wani.”

最後さいごに、だましたことを自慢じまんすると、いちばん後うしろの和邇わにが、兎うさぎをつかまえて、皮かわをはいでしまいました。

At the end it boasted that it had tricked them, and the last wani caught it and stripped off its skin.
