ふもと: foot of a mountain

山やまの麓ふもとに小ちいさな村むらがある。

There is a small village at the foot of the mountain.

さらに、「スセリビメを妻つまにして、宇迦の山うかのやまのふもとに、立派りっぱな宮殿きゅうでんを建たてなさい」と言いいました。

He added, “Make Suseribime your wife and build a splendid palace at the foot of Mount Uka.”

この神かみは、オオモノヌシといい、三輪山みわやまのふもとの大神神社おおみわじんじゃで、今いまもまつられています。

This god is called Ōmononushi, and he is still worshipped today at Ōmiwa Shrine at the foot of Mount Miwa.
