汲む: to draw (water)

私わたしたちは井戸いどから水みずを汲くんで、庭にわの花はなにやった。

We drew water from the well and gave it to the flowers in the garden.

水みずをくみに来きた従者じゅうしゃがホオリを見みつけ、その話はなしを聞きいた、ワタツミの娘むすめのトヨタマヒメが会あいに来きて、二人ふたりは結婚けっこんしました。

A servant who came to draw water found Hoori; Toyotamahime, Watatsumi’s daughter, heard about it and came to meet him, and the two were married.
