茶ちゃそのものは奈良ならから平安へいあんにかけて中国ちゅうごくから伝来でんらいしたが、日本にほんで喫茶きっさの習慣しゅうかんが根ねづいたのは、鎌倉かまくら時代じだいに栄西えいさいが宋そうから茶ちゃの種たねを持ち帰もちかえり、『喫茶きっさ養生ようじょう記き』を著あらわしてからだとされる。

Tea itself reached Japan from China between the Nara and Heian periods, but the habit of drinking it is said to have taken root only after Eisai in the Kamakura period brought tea seeds back from Song China and wrote the Kissa Yojoki.
