陸続き: being joined by land

水みずが氷こおりになって海面かいめんが低ひくかったので、日本にほんは、大陸たいりくと陸続りくつづきになったところもあったと考かんがえられています。

Water was locked up as ice and the sea level was low, so it is thought that in places Japan was joined to the continent by land.
