藪: thicket

道みちを外はずれて藪やぶをかき分かきわけると、小ちいさな祠ほこらがあった。

Leaving the path and pushing through the thicket, I found a small shrine.

余計よけいなことを聞きいたら、藪蛇やぶへびになってしまった。

I asked something unnecessary and it backfired on me.
