N5 · 05 Polite verbs and invitations

Says that you go or come somewhere to do something.

Verb ます-stem + に + 行く/来る/帰る: 買いに行く. Noun (action) + に: 買い物に行く. The place comes before: デパートへ買い物に行く. Not used with being or states, only actions.

Examples

図書館としょかんへ本ほんを借かりに行いきます。

I am going to the library to borrow books.

昼ひるごはんを食たべに出でかけました。

I went out to eat lunch.
