N5 · 04 Adjectives and comparing

Says that something is the best or most of its group.

Place いちばん before an adjective or verb: 一番高い. Group + の中で + X が一番 ~: 果物の中でりんごが一番好きです. Use 一番 with an adjective, not as a noun. Question: 何がいちばん〜ですか.

Examples

クラスで田中たなかさんが一番いちばん背が高せがたかいです。

Tanaka is the tallest in the class.

日本料理にほんりょうりの中なかで、すしが一番いちばん好すきです。

Among Japanese foods, I like sushi the best.
