Words attached to numbers to count different kinds of things.

Number + counter: 一つ, 二つ (general, up to ten), 一人/二人 (people; ひとり, ふたり), 一枚 (flat things), 一本 (long things), 一冊 (books), 一台 (machines). Put the amount right after the noun and particle: りんごを三つ食べました.

Examples

りんごを三みっつください。

Please give me three apples.

教室きょうしつに学生がくせいが十じゅう人にんいます。

There are ten students in the classroom.
