〜い (い-adjectives): adjective ending in い

Adjectives ending in い describe things and can be used directly or with です.

Before a noun: 高い山. As predicate: この山は高い (casual) / 高いです (polite). Never add だ after い-adjectives in the standard form. いい (good) changes to よ- in other forms: よくない, よかった.

Examples

この部屋へやは広ひろいです。

This room is spacious.

昨日きのうは暑あつい日ひでした。

Yesterday was a hot day.
