〜おわる: finish doing

N4 · 07 Time, phases & degree

Says that an action is completed.

Verb stem + おわる: 読みおわる. Used for actions with a clear end, usually of your own work. 〜終える is the transitive version in writing. Do not use with verbs of instant change.

Examples

この本ほんはもう読よみおわりました。

I have already finished reading this book.

ご飯ごはんを食たべおわったら、片付かたづけてね。

When you finish eating, please clean up.
