〜なさい: do ... (command; instruction)

A command that a parent, teacher, or sign gives, firmer than a request but not rude.

Verb stem + なさい. Used by adults to children and in written instructions (次の文を読みなさい). Not used toward a superior. 〜なさい is softer than the imperative 〜ろ and sounds like a lecture.
