〜(さ)せてください・〜(さ)せてもらう: please let me ...; be allowed to

N4 · 02 Favors, passive & causative

Asks for permission to do something, or says you were allowed to.

Causative te-form + ください/もらう/いただく: 使わせてください (let me use), 休ませてもらう (be allowed to rest). With する it is させてください. Asking permission to act yourself. 〜(さ)せていただく is the humbler business version.

Examples

すみません、少すこし休やすませてください。

Excuse me, please let me rest for a little.

先生せんせいに頼たのんで、早はやく帰かえらせてもらいました。

I asked the teacher and was allowed to leave early.
