Compares two things and says one is more.

A は B より + adj, or A のほうが B より + adj. 肉より魚のほうが好きだ. The ほうが side is the chosen one. Question: AとBとどちらが…? Answer: Aのほうが…。 Add もっと to emphasize.

Examples

私わたしは肉にくより魚さかなのほうが好すきです。

I like fish more than meat.

電車でんしゃで行いくより、車くるまで行いくほうが速はやい。

Going by car is faster than going by train.
