Adds another item to something already stated.
Plain form or noun + だけでなく, then a clause with も or まで. Also 〜ばかりでなく and the stiffer 〜のみならず. 彼は英語だけでなく、中国語も話せる. The second part is the more important.
Examples
彼女は英語だけでなく、フランス語も話せる。
She can speak not only English but also French.
この店は、安いだけでなく、味もいい。
This shop is not only cheap but also tasty.
