Says that an action starts.

Verb masu-stem + 始める. It is the point of the start. Compare 〜出す, which is a sudden start. Unlike 〜ようになる, it is about the action itself, not a change of ability.

Examples

先月せんげつからピアノを習ならい始はじめました。

I started learning piano last month.

雨あめが降ふり始はじめる前まえに、家いえに着つきたい。

I want to get home before it starts to rain.
