Says you are trying to keep up a good habit.

Verb dictionary or ない-form + ようにしている. It is a continuing effort, not a strict rule. Compare ことにしている, which is a firm rule. Often for health or manners.

Examples

毎日まいにち野菜やさいを食たべるようにしている。

I try to eat vegetables every day.

人ひとの話はなしを最後さいごまで聞きくようにしています。

I try to listen to people until they finish speaking.
