Explains that something is not as big as the words might suggest.
Plain form + といっても. The speaker says something, and then lowers the impression. For example: 旅行といっても近場だよ. Often used to avoid exaggeration.
Examples
料理ができるといっても、簡単なものだけです。
I can cook, but only simple things.
海外旅行といっても、台湾に二泊しただけだよ。
It was an overseas trip, but just two nights in Taiwan.
