N2 · 14 Quoting and set expressions

Picks up a person or thing in order to complain or show surprise.

Noun + ときたら. The speaker has strong feelings about the topic, usually criticism, sometimes admiration. The sentence often ends with an exclamation. Not used with the speaker's superior.

Examples

うちの息子むすこときたら、毎日まいにちゲームばかりしている。

As for my son, he does nothing but play games every day.

あの店みせのラーメンときたら、本当ほんとうにおいしいんだ。

As for the ramen at that shop, it really is delicious.
