〜に限り: only for; limited to

N2 · 09 Limits and inclusion

Limits a rule or offer to a certain person, time or condition.

Noun + に限り. Formal and used on signs and notices: 先着100名様に限り. It is a restriction, so it often appears with 〜のみ or 〜だけ. Do not confuse with 〜に限って, which expresses surprise.

Examples

会員かいいんの方かたに限かぎり、ご利用りよういただけます。

It can be used only by members.

本日ほんじつに限かぎり、全品ぜんぴん20パーセント引びきとなります。

For today only, all items are 20 percent off.
