〜がたい: hard to; difficult to

Says that something is very hard to do, especially in feelings or judgments.
Verb ます-stem + がたい: 信じがたい, 理解しがたい, 忘れがたい, 受け入れがたい. Written. The difficulty is emotional or mental, not physical. Compare 〜にくい (physical or general difficulty).
Examples
それは、とても信じがたい話だ。
That is a story that is very hard to believe.
彼の行動は、どうしても理解しがたい。
His behavior is something I simply cannot understand.
