Says that a change in one thing brings a change in another.

Noun or verb dictionary form + に伴って (also 〜に伴い, 〜に伴う + noun). Formal. Usually for big changes: 人口の増加に伴って. The second thing is a result of the first. Compare 〜とともに, which is wider.

Examples

人口じんこうの増加ぞうかに伴ともなって、住宅じゅうたく不足ふそくが問題もんだいになっている。

Along with the rising population, a housing shortage has become a problem.

景気けいきの回復かいふくに伴ともない、求人きゅうじんが増ふえている。

With the economic recovery, job openings are increasing.
