〜ば〜ほど: the more ..., the more ...
N2 · 06 Extent and degree
Says that as one thing increases, another thing increases with it.
Same verb or adjective: ば-form + dictionary form + ほど: 読めば読むほど, 高ければ高いほど. Nouns and na-adjectives: 〜であればあるほど. Shows that the degree grows together. Compare 〜につれて, which is for change over time.
Examples
日本語は勉強すればするほど、面白くなる。
The more you study Japanese, the more interesting it becomes.
考えれば考えるほど、分からなくなってきた。
The more I think about it, the less I understand.
