〜ほど〜ない: not as ... as

Says that A is not as much as B in some quality.
Noun + ほど + negative adjective or verb: 今日は昨日ほど寒くない. The standard (B) is the stronger one. Positive comparisons use 〜より instead. Often used with も: それほど, あまり.
Examples
今日は昨日ほど寒くないですね。
It is not as cold today as yesterday, is it?
兄ほど足が速くないので、競走では勝てない。
I am not as fast as my brother, so I can't win a race.
