〜向け: aimed at; for (target group)

N2 · 04 Purpose, means and scope

Shows who or what a product, service or message is made for.

Noun + 向け(の). Example: 子ども向けの本, 外国人向けの案内. Targets a group of people. Compare 〜向き, which means "suitable for" in nature. 向け is the intended audience; 向き is a fit.

Examples

これは初心者しょしんしゃ向むけのアプリです。

This is an app aimed at beginners.

外国人がいこくじん観光客かんこうきゃく向むけに、英語えいごの案内あんないを増ふやした。

We added more English signs for foreign tourists.
