〜際に: when; on the occasion of

Says "at the time when" something is done, in a polite and formal way.
Verb dictionary or た-form, or noun + の + 際に. Used for specific occasions, not general habits: お帰りの際に、お声がけください. More formal than 〜とき. Often with 〜際は and 〜際には.
Examples
お出かけの際は、鍵をお忘れなく。
When going out, please do not forget your key.
ご利用の際には、受付で手続きをしてください。
When you use the facility, please complete the procedure at the reception desk.
