〜としても: even if; even supposing

Grants a possibility but says the result stays the same or is not enough.
Plain form + としても (nouns and na-adjectives: であるとしても or だとしても). Close to 〜ても, but it sounds more like a considered assumption. Follows with a contrast or unchanged result.
Examples
たとえ今から急いだとしても、間に合わないだろう。
Even if we hurry from now, we probably won't make it.
その話が本当だとしても、信じる人は少ないよ。
Even if that story is true, few people will believe it.
