Says the speaker feels an emotion to the highest degree.

い-adjective (dictionary form) or な-adjective + (な)限りだ. Mostly feelings about yourself: 嬉しい限りだ, 心強い限りだ, 残念な限りだ. Spoken or written. Used for the speaker's own feelings, not for others.

Examples

こんなに素敵すてきな賞しょうをいただけて、嬉うれしい限かぎりです。

I am extremely happy to receive such a wonderful prize.

大事だいじな試合しあいを前まえにケガをするとは、残念ざんねんな限かぎりだ。

Getting injured right before an important match is just so unfortunate.
