Makes a verb meaning "to pretend to be" something.

Noun, adjective stem, or other word + ぶる (学者ぶる, 偉ぶる, もったいぶる). Describes a person who acts as if they are special. It sounds critical.

Examples

彼かれは先輩せんぱいぶって、新人しんじんにあれこれ指図さしずした。

Putting on the air of a senior, he gave the newcomers all sorts of orders.

彼女かのじょはいつも上品じょうひんぶっているが、本当ほんとうは気きさくな人ひとだ。

She always acts refined, but really she is easygoing.
