〜ことだし: since; seeing that

Gives a light reason for a suggestion or decision.

Plain form + ことだし. A casual way to say "since X, why don't we Y". It lists a reason to support a suggestion. Compare 〜から, which is stronger.

Examples

天気てんきもいいことだし、散歩さんぽに行いかない?

The weather is nice, so shall we go for a walk?

時間じかんもあることだし、もう少もうすこし話はなしていこうよ。

We have time, so let's talk a bit more.
