〜を境に: after; with ... as the turning point

Marks a point after which a clear change begins.

Noun + を境に(して). The change happens before and after the point. Used for big events or dates: あの事件を境に. The change is clear and lasting.

Examples

去年きょねんを境さかいに、売り上うりあげが急きゅうに落おちた。

Sales dropped suddenly after last year.

あの事件じけんを境さかいに、彼かれは人が変ひとがかわったように無口むくちになった。

After that incident, he became quiet as if he were a different person.
