Says that something changes depending on a factor, and a different result is possible.
Noun + 次第で(は). Often 〜次第だ, "it all depends on". Use with a factor you control or one that varies: 気持ち次第, 結果次第. Compare 〜いかんでは (more formal).
Examples
話し合い次第では、この条件を変えてもいい。
Depending on how the talks go, I may change these terms.
結果次第では、計画を見直す必要がある。
Depending on the result, we need to review the plan.
