〜ともなれば: when it comes to; once it is

The same idea as 〜ともなると: at an important stage or level, it naturally becomes so.

Noun or verb + ともなれば. A little more formal. The second part states a natural change or expectation. Often used with age, position, big events, and a season.

Examples

受験生じゅけんせいともなれば、遊あそんでばかりはいられない。

When you become an exam candidate, you cannot just keep playing around.

大おお舞台ぶたいともなれば、誰だれでも緊張きんちょうするものだ。

When it is a big stage, everybody gets nervous.
