ずつ: each; at a time

Spreads an equal amount over each unit.

Quantity + ずつ: 一つずつ, 少しずつ = little by little. Follows the amount, not the thing.

Examples

毎日まいにち少すこしずつ漢字かんじを覚おぼえます。

I learn a few kanji little by little every day.

みんなに一ひとつずつあげます。

I'll give one to each person.
