N4 · 08 Te-form helpers & contractions

Does something to see what it is like.

Verb te-form + みる (usually written in kana). Means "try and see", not "try hard". Common: 〜てみたい, 〜てみよう, 〜てみてください.

Examples

この料理りょうりを食たべてみてください。

Please try this dish.

新あたらしい靴くつをはいてみたい。

I want to try on the new shoes.
