Joins verbs and clauses: and then, because, by doing.

Te-form of a verb or adjective. Sequence, cause, manner, request (〜てください), progressive (〜ている). It never shows tense; the final verb does.

Examples

朝あさ起おきて、顔かおを洗あらう。

I wake up and wash my face.

ドアを開あけて、中なかに入はいった。

I opened the door and went in.
