Shows that an action or quality goes beyond the proper amount.

Verb stem or adjective stem + すぎる (食べすぎる, 高すぎる). い-adjective: drop い; na-adjective: use the stem. ない → なさすぎる. Usually negative in feel.

Examples

昨日きのうはお酒おさけを飲のみすぎた。

I drank too much alcohol yesterday.

このかばんは高たかすぎます。

This bag is too expensive.
