Marks the target of an attitude or action, or sets up a contrast.

N に対して + attitude/action. Contrast: clause のに対して = whereas. Modifier: に対する + N.

Examples

先生せんせいに対にたいして失礼しつれいなことを言いいました。

I said something rude to the teacher.

兄あには静しずかなのに対にたいして、私わたしはにぎやかです。

My brother is quiet, whereas I am lively.
