N5 · 05 Polite verbs and invitations

Makes a verb polite in the present or future.

Attaches to the verb stem: 食べ→食べます, 書き→書きます. Irregular: します, 来(き)ます. Negative ません, past ました, volitional ましょう.

Examples

毎朝まいあさコーヒーを飲のみます。

I drink coffee every morning.

明日あした、友達ともだちに会あいます。

I will meet a friend tomorrow.
