Polite invitation phrased as a negative question.

Stem + ませんか. Softer than ましょう. Reply はい、ぜひ or すみません、ちょっと…. Not a real negative question here; it is an offer.

Examples

今度こんど、映画えいがを見に行みにいきませんか。

Won't you go see a movie next time?

一緒いっしょにお茶おちゃを飲のみませんか。

Would you like to have tea together?
