N5 · 02 Pointing, asking, counting

Marks the starting point in time or place, or the source of something.

N から N まで = from … to. Also marks the giver: 友達からもらう. After a clause it means "because" (see 〜から because).

Examples

会議かいぎは九く時じから始からはじまります。

The meeting starts at nine.

これは友達ともだちからのプレゼントです。

This is a present from a friend.
