ほど: extent; as much as

Indicates degree: about, to the extent of, or "not as … as".

N ほど〜ない = not as … as. 死ぬほど = to the point of dying. Amount: 三日ほど. 〜ば〜ほど = the more … the more.

Examples

今日きょうは昨日きのうほど暑あつくないです。

Today isn't as hot as yesterday.

死しぬほどおなかがすきました。
