Archaic polite verb for ある/いる/だ, heard in samurai drama.

Ancestor of ございます. Negative: ござらぬ. Used in samurai and ninja speech, usually with 拙者 and ぬ. Noun + でござる works as "is". Not used in real modern life.

Examples

ここに宝たからがござる。

There is treasure here.

お主おぬしに頼たのみがござる。

I have a request for you.
