〜でしょう: probably; right?

Expresses a guess, or seeks agreement when said with rising tone.

Plain form + でしょう; noun and na-adjective drop だ. Casual: だろう. Falling tone = probably; rising tone = "right?". Polite writing and weather forecasts use it a lot.

Examples

明日あしたは晴はれるでしょう。

It will probably be sunny tomorrow.

これ、おいしいでしょう？

This is tasty, isn't it?
